Norway's largest stave church from the 13th century takes you back to the fascinating world of the Middle Ages, and is a favorite tourist destination. You will find it 3 kilometers from Kjerringrokk.
In the center of Notodden you will find the book & blues house, Notodden's great hall. There is a café, cinema and library here, and the place has a rich selection of cultural life.
There are great nature trails along the river Heddøla, in Heddalsåsen and the Semsøyene Nature Reserve.

Bø Sommarland is just a short drive from Kjerringrokk (24 km) and is one of Norway’s largest tourist attractions with approximately 150,000 visitors annually. The park opened in 1985 and is Norway’s only outdoor water park according to Wikipedia. It is also the largest in Scandinavia.
Bø in Telemark, nearby, offers shopping at Bøsenteret, Sønstebøtunet, and Storgata, as well as a variety of restaurants and dining options.
